Save Packfilm Travelog No. 11: Home is not the final destination

Back at the SUPERSENSE Palace I finally find the time to carefully digest all your mind-blowing comments, my dear analog sisters and brothers in arms.

I am truly and honestly moved by your incredible support and by the warm energy of all your comments - and I only can whisper THANK YOU from the bottom of my analog heart. This is my very first attempt of writing something like a diary or travelog and honestly ,I am really blown away of how good this feels. Slowly I discover how much we really did accomplish together. Please forgive me that I can not write back to all of you, but you have my word that all of you will be invited to the big party as soon as we have done it!!

Together with my team here I just discussed changing the name travelog to something else, as I am now back home. But with your ok, I would love to continue writing this as a travelog, as I always have seen this journey as a long and wild trip with one clearly defined final destination: THE RESCUE OF PACKFILM.

So, for me this travelog has to go on until we have proudly reached this final destination. Please prepare serious lunch boxes, rain coats and warm underwear, this travelog will for sure go on.

I have been shooting pack film since Polaroid first brought it out way back. I was devistated when Polaroid stopped making it, switched to Fuji. Now, Fuji stopped! This is really upsetting! I have 5 pack film cameras. Doc, I am 71 years old and I am very thankful to have you as an advocate for all us pack film photographers. If I have to swear to buying a certain amount of film each year, so that you can make a deal with Fuji, then I will do it. Thank you, sir. I salute you!

Doc! You’re doing great! As with others, I was shocked and angry when I heard the announcement. I love this film! I love analog. I want to continue shooting it. Maybe doing something as radical as encouraging Fujifilm to make a new packfilm camera as Kodak is doing with Super 8. Something! Thanks so much for all your work so far! Good luck out there.

    GO, GO, GO!

Thanks, from the bottom of my heart. I have always loved analog technology in spite of living in this digital age. People like you fighting to keep it alive for all us sinners who talk the talk, but don’t always walk the walk. I love my Polaroid 250, I love packfilm. I am so happy others share this feeling!

I just want to take the time to say a massive thanks for everything, when I first heard the announcement that fuji was stopping production I was so gutted, I only found packfilm in 2014 and to have such a short time to play with it before it was to be ripped away was awful, I am so grateful for the amazing community who refuses to go down without a fight. Thank you for everything you are doing.

  • Star From Above

Never give up!!! We will get there!!!
